Have you ever had the unexpected surprise of running into a friend, acquaintance, or family member in an unlikely place?
It’s an odd feeling when you bump into your Uncle at the airport, a teacher at a Birthday party, or your dog on the train to work.
Thomas McCormack, a handyman from the U.K., had this exact feeling thrust upon him when he boarded his morning trolly and then had his dog sit down on the seat beside him.
“I jumped on the train and the next thing I know Paddy comes in and sits on the seat next to me,” he told the Kirkintilloch Herald. “I was shocked. He just looked at me as if he was saying ‘Where are you going?'”
McCormack had no other options but to hold an impromptu bring-your-dog-to-work-day, but the questions started brewing about how the dog got on the train.
Then the pieces of the mystery began to click. At points, McCormack had come home to find his beloved pooch waiting on the doorstep, rather in the fenced-in backyard.
When he spoke to neighbors, the pieces clicked even further. Neighbors confirmed that they had seen the dog break out of the backyard. Thanks to the trampoline housed near the fence, the dog was able to jump up and over the perimeter. It’s then assumed Paddy padded down to the train station, following his owners scent.
