A Seattle, Washington mother has been arrested after allegations came out that she had poured gasoline on her daughter and threatened to light a match to kill her.
The incident, which happened on November 16, according to SeattlePi.com, was all over a spat about the girl’s bad test scores. News reports say 44-year-old Lisa Kyles threw gasoline on her daughter and then “reportedly struck the 14-year-old girl with a tire jack and whipped her with a phone charger cord before the teen ran away to seek help from neighbors.”
According to detectives reports, the girl ran through a nearby parking lot screaming “Help me, she’s trying to set me on fire!”
There were also reports that she yelled, “She’s gonna kill me!”
Witnesses said the defendant told them “It’s my daughter and I can discipline her however I want” and “I can do as I please,” according to Q13 Fox.
Despite what some reports state, the 44-year-old Mom says she was arguing with her daughter about photos she had found on the teen’s phone. Child protective services have since taken custody of the girl. Kyles has been arrested and her bail is set to $150,000.
