Artists are known for their way of thinking outside the box. Where most see ordinary objects, artists see duel potential and the possibility of telling more than one story.
Take Peter Adams-Shawn of Memories of Tomorrow, for example. This talented photographer has taken some unique wedding photos. He likes to play with reflections and find stories in the mirrors.
Take a look at this photo from a collection called “eyescapes” in which the photographer captures images of bridesmaids as they watch the bride get ready for her big day.
More recently, Peter’s approach has been using reflections of a different kind. He has been capturing images aw part of a series where he takes a look at the bride and groom in the reflection of their own wedding rings.
About his vision, Peter says, “I don’t just like to think outside the box. I live outside it.”
“When I set the rings down, I saw the reflection,” he writes about the first time he saw this perfect op. “I quickly grabbed a flash and took the shot. After that, I was always on the lookout for opportunities.”
He’s been practicing these photos for a while now, dubbed “ringscapes.” About the style and his growth as a photographer he says, “these days, a straight reflection is very easy to capture, relatively speaking, so I like trying more challenging compositions.”
If you like these photos, you aren’t alone. Peter is quickly becoming a world-known photographer, and if you want him at your wedding, you’re going have to book at least a year in advance.
But I assure you it will be well worth it.
