Talk about being the master of all trades.
17-year-old Steven Ortiz appeared on NBC recently for his amazing ability to barter his way to the top. At the young age of just 15, this high-schooler had an old cell phone, which he decided her didn’t need anymore. Rather than selling the phone, he took to Craigslist and bartered for an iPod. That seems like a fair trade right?
Ortiz realized there was a lot he could profit from by bartering, so he kept trading. He exchanged the iPod for another item and kept working his way to the top, until he got himself a shinny Porsche. The amazingly talented high-school did this all without money or a job.
While it sounds easy, don’t be fooled into thinking anybody can get rich quick by trading junk on Craigslist. Ortiz said you have to know exactly what you’re doing, you have to have the patience and the time, and you have to know enough about the product to be sure it’s a decent trade.
