Love can make a person do some pretty crazy things, but if you’ve ever been unlucky enough to go through a divorce or a terrible breakup, you know well that it can make a person even crazier.
When a couple decides it’s time to call it quits, unfortunately, there is usually a lot of he said, she said and disagreement on what really went wrong. Yet everyone knows there are three sides to every story: person 1, person 2, and then the truth, but in the following story it’s his side, her side and one shocking piece of videotape.
From the outside, Scott Mitchell and Mary Hunt had a picture-perfect relationship, but photos can never reveal a couple’s true story. The successful Florida businessman and his younger fianceé called off their August wedding last summer after he said she stole about $2.1 million worth of jewelry from a safe in his Tampa Bay mansion. Yet, Hunt quickly fought back saying that Mitchell was abusive and violent towards her, giving her black eyes and bruises.
“There were so many times when I wanted to give up, but I couldn’t do it anymore and I think about how much he would have wanted this,” Mary Hunt told Fox 13. However, Mitchell’s attorney recently released a shocking tape from the millionaire’s mansion, where the abuse appears to be self-inflicted.
“There is no evidence that he ever beat her,” Attorney Todd Foster told Fox 13. “This video now demonstrates that she is striking herself in the same area of the face and head that they allege Scott struck her.”
Videos are also believed to show the woman stealing from her former fiancé’s home. Now the gloves are coming off in this high-profile lover’s quarrel.
