Stranger Things is an American science-fiction horror television series based in the year 1983. The directors, the Duffer brothers, set the show in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, but that wasn’t the original location they planned on.
It’s believed the real inspiration for Stranger Things was at Camp Hero State Park in Montauk, New York. Montauk was also the original title of Stranger Things when the brothers sold the concept to Netflix.
