A California couple is slowly working their way toward becoming the longest marriage ever.
Making a marriage work is a difficult endeavor. Making a marriage work for 82 years sounds nearly impossible, but this cute couple is making it last.
They may have lost their youth, but they haven’t let the sparks fly from their lives or their marriage.
This couple, Nicholas and Rafaela Ordaz, has been married so long that at a recent celebration, five generations were in attendance. That means the couple’s great-great-grandchildren were present to see them celebrate over eight decades of marriage.
In fact, this couple has been together for so long, they’re in the running to set the world record for the longest marriage. Currently, the longest marriage stands at 86 years, according to The Guinness Book of World Records.
Their secret to being married so long?
Nicholas and Rafaela say it’s all about respect, affection, and not sweating the small stuff. Considering they’ve made it longer in marriage than most people have made it in life, we think they’re pretty good sources of information.
