A twenty-something girl named Marina Piro did something most people would be afraid to do. She ditched a permanent home and decided to live out of her van and travel the world with her dog, Odie.
Marina details all of her adventures on her blog and Instagram, and she explains that she chose to travel by van since she knew Odie wouldn’t be allowed on certain buses and trains. Odie is a Labradoodle cross and Marina got him as a rescue dog, and it was “love at first bark.”
Marina explains that the task of converting her van to allow for sleeping and eating for her and her dog was a large task.
Marina started out with a van, gutted in the back, and says, “I am starting my conversion no knowledge whatsoever on mechanics, electrics, plumbing or woodworking I’m learning everything on the spot,” Marina wrote on her blog.
She gave herself three months to transform the van, and within the first few weeks, things were coming together nicely.
Marina added some curtains to keep out the light, and also added her own special decoration to give it more of a “homey” feel.
You must be wondering where Marina showers, but she has that covered too!
Living this way allows Marina to get more in touch with nature and she also has the best views every single morning.
Odie doesn’t look like he’s having a bad time either.

Maddie and Odie are currently still traveling, but if you want to keep up with them, you can follow them here.
Cannot believe Odie agreed in being my navigator during this little packrafting Adventure. Yes the water is very shallow there but i promise we did conquered some (tiny) rapids. And yes there are three horses on on the background.
