These Are The Five Foods To Never Eat

There is a well known saying that states, “We are what we eat.” But Life Daily researchers have discovered that there are five foods never to eat under any circumstances

What many of the “first world nations” are eating on a daily basis is quite scary. The chemicals added to these foods are disrupting our hormones, causing cancer and leading to a variety of health issues.

Michael Pollan, the author and journalist, says that our food system depends on our not knowing much about it, beyond the price; cheapness and ignorance are mutually reinforcing. And it’s a short step from not knowing to not caring. He adds that the global economy couldn’t very well function without this wall of ignorance and the indifference.

We suggest that, if you’d like to live a life full of health and vitality, start by controlling your food choices. And in regard to foods never to eat, our list of the worst five is below:

1. Canned Foods

When you buy canned foods you don’t realize that you are also buying BPA This toxic chemical is linked to a whole host of problems including diabetes, heart disease and a heightened risk of breast and prostate cancers.
Canned foods, such as tomatoes, are highly acidic and can cause the BPA to contaminate your food. We recommend you avoid canned foods and stick to fresh and seasonal produce. If that’s not possible, go for frozen foods instead.

2. Processed Meats

Most deli meats are typically made with meats from animals that are given growth hormones, antibiotics and other drugs that stick in their bodies. These are passed on when you eat the meat product.
These meats are also treated with sodium nitrite for color and flavor. Your body converts this to nitrosamines, which are cancer-causing chemicals. If you’re going to eat meat, avoid processed meats at all costs. Instead try local and sustainable raised (and grass-fed) meat. As an alternative you could try wild caught salmon and other fish.

3. Margarine

The low-fat diet craze is one of the worst diet fads ever. Healthy fats are essential to your diet as your cells are built with fat. Margarine, and other butter substitutes, are loaded with trans fats, free radicals, emulsifiers, and preservatives. Any one of these can lead to heart disease, cancer, bone problems, hormonal imbalances, skin disease, infertility, and much more.
Butter, when made from grass-fed cows, is a healthy substance filled with conjugated linoleic acid which actually helps to fight cancer and diabetes.

4. Vegetable Oils

Vegetable oils are oils extracted from seeds. You can find a variety of such oils such as canola, soybean, corn, sunflower and safflower. They were only produced for the first time in the early 1900’s.
These are some of the most chemically altered foods in our diets. Vegetable oils are found in practically every processed food, from salad dressing to potato chips to mayo.
People consume about 70 pounds of vegetable oils throughout the year!
One of the ways vegetable oils can inflict damage is by converting your good cholesterol into bad cholesterol – by oxidizing it.
Trans-fats are introduced when these oils are hydrogenated, which increases your risk of chronic diseases like breast cancer and heart disease.

5. Microwave Popcorn

The bags of microwave popcorn contain chemicals called perfluoroalkyls which keep the grease from leaking through the fast food wrappers. These chemicals disrupt the endocrine system and are carcinogenic. They are linked to infertility, thyroid malfunction, cancerous tumors, and immunological problems.
Better to choose the old fashioned route of stove-top or air-popped popcorn. Most fast food or junk food wrappers contain these chemicals and simply add toxicity to your body.

As Michael Pollan said so aptly, “If it came from a plant, eat it; if it was made in a plant, don’t.”

Truthfully, the easiest way to stay healthy is to never eat the five foods we have listed. Instead, eat whole unrefined or fresh foods
